Dave and Donna Abrams were having a hard time finding workers for ComForCare, their home-healthcare company based in Winston-Salem, N.C.

“We kept having applicants that had a background in home care, but no certifications,” Dave Abrams said.

The Abramses turned to ApprenticeshipNC for help.

The ApprenticeshipNC staff helped the couple create a registered apprenticeship program to develop a talent pipeline that met ComForCare’s staffing needs.

“The more people we can attract to the industry, the more we can shorten the (healthcare worker) gap,” Abrams said. “Any business can benefit from an apprenticeship program if they want to grow their business.”
