The contests take place on the fairgrounds of the N.C. State Fair under the apprenticeship tent near Gate 2 and across from the Jim Graham Building.
Mason Saunders with Huntley Brothers Co., won the 2021 Masonry Apprenticeship Contest Monday, Oct. 18. Saunders is joined by (L to R): Calvin Brodie, president of Brodie Contractors; Kathryn Castelloes, director of ApprenticeshipNC, Thomas Stith, president of the NC Community College System and Danks Burton, president of Pinnacle Masonry and the N.C. Masonry Contractors Assoc.
